I am a relatively new runner and am looking to just get in shape and up my mileage without getting injured. Right now I am just running about 5 miles a day during the week and a little bit longer on the weekend. I am wondering if it is better to up my runs on each weekday run by a couple of miles (i.e. 5 to 7) or run further a couple of days and back off a bit on the other days. I really just want to get in shape and really don't know the best method. Any advice is appreciated.
