Usually I do my workouts on an old crushed gravel track. Does anyone know of a synthetic track that is open to the public? I'd like to run 400s today, but the gravel track is under water/slush. It would be nice if it were close to DU...
Thanks!

Let me know if you find out. The only synthetic tracks in the city that I'm aware of are the All-City stadium track right next to the dirt track at South where you probably already run, and the track at East on Colfax and York. Neither one is open to the public, though I will occasionally sneak into the All-City track to finish up a workout started on the South track. (The distance from the west starting line on the dirt track to the official starting line on the synthetic stadium track is the perfect recovery interval for 800s.)
There's also the dirt track at West High School, but that's usually in even worse shape than South.
Maybe try one of the Englewood high schools? Worse comes to worst, mark 400m off on the inner loop at Wash Park (outer is still pretty rough as of yesterday) and have at it.
I used to do some of my workouts at Manual High school. It has an all weather track, but I'm not sure what the status of it is any more. It's kinda tucked away a few blocks west of city park.
