Does the Black Eyed Peas song "I GOTTA FEELING" have the dumbest lyrics of the decade?

The Black Eyed Peas used to be known as the peas, until Chuck Norris heard their music.

That being said, this "award" has to go to Soulja Boi and his LOL Smiley Face "song".

Sesame Street has a great song. It goes like this:

The lyrics to that song are nowhere near the worst of the decade. Not that they're good. But it's not supposed to be insightful. It's poppy dance music.

Soulja Boy consistently produces some of the worst lyrics. Also, Kanye's lyrics in that new Jay-Z song, Run This Town, are particularly awful.

I have to agree with you. heard this song the other day in a store. It caught my attention because at first I though I misheard the lyrics, but no, sure enough they said Saturday twice. And they say "mozel tov", which adds a whole new level of weirdness to the song. The song was so bad it actually made me mad. And although I know I was not the one responsible, I actually started feeling guilty for listening to it, even though it was just over the intercom. A truly horrible song without a doubt.

I've thought the same thing about that song. I'm sure it's not the worst of the whole decade but it's in the top 10 for sure. I feel like their producer/writers for their other allegeded hits spent about 10 minutes on this song. In their mind they were thinking, "can we possibly release a song with absolute non-sense lyrics and still make it a hit?" Sadly, I guess they succeeded in that mission.

It's kind of like Samuel L Jackson starring in Snakes on a Plane. I feel he was thinking something similar like, "I'm such a big movie star now that I can star in an absolutely ridiculous movie and people will still pay to see me". Jackson was also fairly successful at this.

There are a couple Lady Gaga songs I've heard that come to mind.

I'm pretty sure they're all functional retards . Some kind of EOE for pop music.Forget the lyrics, they're is not even an attempt to sing in some key. And, they sure as shit can't rap, (not that that is talent.)The broad claims to be thirty something,yet looks fifty something, with 8 miles of bad road.

Nope, that distinction goes squarely to "Whatcha Say," stupid sentiments and whacked sense of ethics behind them.

People looking for subtlety and nuance in pop music lyrics are barking up the wrong sleeve, as Mr. Cassidy might say.

Although to the poster who had the Snakes on a Plane comment. . . how did you seriously not get that the whole movie was sarcastic? It was called SNAKES ON A PLANE! Sheesh, I guess not very subtle subtlety is lost on you.

The Black Eyed Peas sold out when they started to make doctor pepper commercials, but the truth of the matter is that Fergie completely and utterly destroyed that once bearable hip hop group. Bridging the Gap and Behind the Front are actually good albums...now everything they record makes me want to pour sulfuric acid in my ears.

I'd say that f*cking "Boom Boom Pow" song has even dumber lyrics, as difficult as that is.

The Black Eyed Peas are truly a scourge of the the music business.

Last time I checked, the thing separating songs from poems was a melody. Rhythm and harmony are what make a song popular (unless you're talking about Bob Dylan, which I don't consider to be very pleasant on the ears). This is what music is all about, and why people will continue to listen to songs regardless of how good the lyrics are, because they're catchy.

I used to be a BEP fan, until boom boom pow came out. I got a feeling is just the nail in the coffin of my fanship.

Any songs by "Lil' Wayne are terrible. It takes no education to write his songs or most rap songs these days. Tupac knew how to rap. A normal person understood him and he was educated.
