When wearing long tights guys do you wear a brief or nothing at all? Or is more of a preference, I have tried wearing a brief but it feels uncomfortable, but thought going commando would be weird. So, Im asking when wearing tights in the winter time do you go commando?

I wear half tights under long tights. It's awesome. I find that long tights don't actually provide dong support.

Wind briefs for the win. Though tights might be enough to keep the legs warm they don't do a whole lot for the 'franks and beans'. If not wind briefs then at least some tighter, jockey type underwear that will not be bulky.

I showed up to practice like that one time.
commando is fine. No one is going to notice or care.
It's kinda like when you wear some 4inch inseam or less running shorts with just the built-in brief lining.
However, if you're renting them for the team uniform like we did in high school, and they've been worn previously, you may choose not to go commando. That's up to you.
I would never go commando in tights unless they had a thick layer of extra insulation around the pubic region.
I just wear normal running shorts (short inseem, maybe 1.5-2") underneath and have never had a problem. The shorts have the built in liner, so it gives you 3 layers of protection from wind. In most conditions, you don't need anything more.
