Okay... so I had a 35mpw buildup for the six weeks before the Great South Run. I also walk 8-10 miles a day, 5 days a week for work.
Training was all going well, 2 sessions a week, long runs etc.
Got a new PB at the GSR of around 68 minutes.
Then 2 days after at work, whilst walking around, noticed heel pain. Tried running the next day, heel pain a lot worse.
Saw my GP who suggested achilles tendinitis - my heel basically creaked if I flexed my foot... and was sore.
Saw a physio who suggested heel bursitis instead.
I've since had 4 sessions with the physio for massage etc. and have been stretching and icing it at home.
Once I'm cleared by the physio to run again... how should I build my mileage up again?
