Durability of Shoes - Why care if you have the $$$ to replace them often?

What would you rather do - train in a 10oz peformance trainer... or a 12-13oz shoe that's more economical for your training cycle?

no offense but if you make decent paper and running's important to you, why not just replace a performance trainer early instead of getting a durable shoe to last an entire season/half-year?

Now that I think about it, I guess you'd lose "blue collar" credibility in the running community when you run a good race
