I had an...um...embarrassing encounter the other day, and am wondering if it could be due to training. It's not like I'm walking around exhausted all day, but definitely I'm racking them up more than before...

I've never had a problem performing due to high mileage.
I definitely have noticed a reduction in desire or pursuit of it at times when running the big miles though.
This is not a joke. You might find that you wouldn't have these problems if you were with a man.
Serious answer, yes. I'm usually over 90 a week and my girlfriend is freaking hot. Issue is about 4 nights a week I fall asleep even before anything happens.
I've found the solution is afternoon sex.
You may be over training. Loss of sex drive is one of the symptoms. You may not realize it now but if you keep your training up for a few more weeks it will get worse and you will see more of the symptoms of burn out. It happened to me last year really bad and I pretty much stopped even looking at my girlfriend. Once I recovered though, I was able to make up for the lost time.
High sex drive can ruin your mileage.
I'll try to pay attention for burnout. It's weird, since I actually feel pretty good otherwise, and this has never, ever happened before...

Come on, man... everyone and his (male?) lover knows that impotence is almost 100% mental. Sure, you can take a pill like Cialis, but that's like taking PEDS.
Unless you're exhausted and falling asleep, your training should not affect your ability to perform. And I'm assuming that you are referring to your ability to even get interested, let alone perform.
Overtraining can affect testosterone levels. Low testosterone-->low sex drive----> no 8===>
the only issue would be fatigue, just go to bed earlier, w/ your bf
High mileage equals less sex drive plus determines that you will sire only girls. Proven fact.
high mileage over long-run = greater fitness = increased stamina in bed & better performance
BUT sudden bump to high mileage in short-run = temporary decr., thus may need to adjust as follows:
9PM instead of midnight to 1AM or...maybe better, go for a recovery shakeout long run with her at 8min pace after good night sleep and then make pancake breakfast together and have some fun
No, I'm interested. The physical reaction just wasn't there the way it usually is. But I can't back off of training...
I have another shot tonight, and will let you know what happens.
Signs of burn out are higher resting heart rate(+10%= overtraing and +15%=burnout), sore feet, fluctuations in weight, bad performance in class, waking up a lot at night, trouble falling asleep, jittery legs, loss of sex drive, and of course bad training and slow races. You could feel good while running but then be running poorly after a few weeks. You need to be really careful about this. You don't want to go through what I did last fall. It took months to recover.
guppy's answer re testosterone is correct.
high mileage (and overtraining) causes your body to produce cortisol instead of testosterone
When u get older?.....absolutely....
Happens all the time. You're feeling well otherwise? You'll be fine.
Is your weekly mileage more important than your relationship?
Don't let this happen to often. Don't get too obsessed with the running. Too much hard work in any department will cause this problem. If it's just now and then that it happens, then she will understand, but don't let your running ruin her sex life.
