Anybody know what this course is like? The map doesn't reveal much.

I don't believe they have let anyone run on the golf course this year.
In fact, I'm not even sure there has ever been a race at this course before. It is not the host university's home course.
Apparently people in the UAA were trying to get Case to hold the Conference championship at the course, but there was no way the course owners were going to let them race there.
The Highland Hills Golf Course hosted the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship meet in 2007. It is as far as I know the only time a meet has been held on the course. The course has rolling hills throughout, but should still run fairly fast as none of the hills are monstrous.
Will be in attendance this year.
I ran the course today... Some of the course has very soft ground which makes for some bad footing, but also has some very hard spots as well. Its rolling throughout with no major hills but alot of gradual uphills and down hills. Times will not be very fast its a true cross country course with alittle bit of everything. These are the top 10 times from the OAC championships on this course in 2007:
1 O'Brien, Jimmy JR Ohio Northern 25:53.29 1
2 Lasch, Scott SO Heidelberg 26:09.42 2
3 Simpson, Dan SR Heidelberg 26:11.03 3
4 Ford, Dustin JR Mount Union 26:12.13 4
5 Basista, Kyle SR Mount Union 26:14.74 5
6 Porter, Eric JR Ohio Northern 26:20.71 6
7 Butcher, Devin SO Heidelberg 26:27.70 7
8 Lewis, Paul JR Ohio Northern 26:30.87 8
9 Schneider, Chase JR Otterbein 26:32.00 9
10 Griffin, Ty FR Mount Union 26:33.71 10
Top 10 women's times?
I'm really happy to hear it's a true cross country course. That's the way the National meet courses should be.
It was a bit muddy in spots that day with a decent wind, probably faster than last year's national course.
Last year in Hanover it took sub 25 to be All American. You think this course will be faster than that?
yes, last year the course was not uber flat, but from what I understand the ground was packed very hard due to a frost. footing is the biggest ingredient when it comes to times, not elevation changes.
the double start should be pretty interesting...

Yea, I agree with seconded, the course for nationals was a pretty slow course in the past but because the ground was so hard it ran really fast. I would assume that a golf course would have short grass so as long as it is dry it should be pretty quick.
Rain in the forecast for Cleveland wednesday night and thursday, clearing later in the day thursday, partly sunny, with breezes on Friday.
The course is soft, we'll see how well it drains. Last time I was there it was soaked like a sponge.
Course will be slow, and is tougher than it looks. People will pay the last 2 miles if their hurting.
Not sure if this will help or not, but here is a link to the course description: http://www.bw.edu/athletics/09ccnationals/coursedescription/
The course is soaked!
Yeah with the rain we had the last couple days it's going to be wet, slow and probably muddy.
Will there be live video from this year's race?
