I've wanted to work for a sporting good / shoe company for a while. I've worked the last few years in marketing, but for non-athletic brands. Any idea how difficult it would be to make the move to a shoe company? I have skills / experience that could translate well but nothing athletic apparel / shoe-specific. This would be for anything marketing related. I would not have experience for position in areas such as supply chain, design, etc.
Has anyone made a successful move to sporting goods after working in a different sector? Thought about possibly getting a part-time, weekend job for one of the shoe companies to help.
