No I have no new information about them, but I am curious what they are doing, and I guess this is just a speculation thread. If anyone does know how Webb might be training differently or if anyone knows what Rupp is planning on doing this fall/winter/spring as far as any racing, I would like to know. I wonder if he plans on running cross. Ritzenhein, I believe, has mentioned in an interview that he would like to return to cross in 2010, so that would be pretty neat if Rupp and Ritzenhein both made the team. If Webb was able to get back into his former cross shape, he might have a chance of making the team, but that would be a lot of improvement in a short amount of time. I\'m not sure how much would be necessary, but I doubt it was easy for him to get into 27:34 shape, and that was after a couple years of good consistent training with noticeable improvements and gains. I would consider it a success if Salazar could get Webb back into that shape by next summer. I wouldn\'t say it\'s realistic, but a grand goal. If, however, Webb could be in decent 10k shape for the caliber of competitor in this race, say 28:30, by February in time for US cross, would it be that inconceivable that he could also possible make the US team for world cross?
Really I just wonder what Ritzenhein, Rupp, Webb, Hall, and Tegenkamp could all do in cross for team USA if they all trained for it and made the team. But that will probably never happen. Not ever.
