I am planning on giving this ART thing I try and iv been looking around where I live in northern CA and the place I really want to go to is about 110.00 for an hour..is this a good deal? I have read that you usually have to go more than one time to get benefits, is this true? Also, for a half hour its about 75 dollars. Is a half hour long enough to get the full benefits? How long does a typical ART session take if done properly? Insurance doesn't cover so it would be out of pocket.
I'm 4 visits into treatment with an ART specialist for treatment of a hamstring injury. He usually spends about 20-30 min. with me, and it seems to be plenty.
I'd recommend trying to find a PT/Chiro who is also certified in "Graston Technique" and Kinesio-taping. My chiro has used all of these with me, and the multi-modality theory seems to be working.
I ran 2 miles yesterday - the longest I've run since July. It isn't much, but it's progress.

My guy was more expensive than that. I got 15-20 minutes of his time for $65. It helped but was only treating the symptoms. I eventually got a gait analysis from the UVA Speed Clinic that produced a customized exercise program and recommended changes in my running style that treated the cause. The gait analysis cost $450, but was well worth it and will pay for itself by eliminating the $65 ART treatments every 3-4 weeks.
