7:15 into the vid...what a champ

Why would I wait 7:15 into a clip to see some chump do that? It isn't letting me ffwd.
because the screamer finished 14th at the New England championship and probably is faster than you and will be better than you?

That's not even remotely worth waiting around for 7 minutes
I wonder if this is true, does anyone know his time?
14th at the New England Championship means nothing to me.
looks like it was zach kraus - 16:40 on a sloppy course that isn't exceptionally fast. but the video will tell that. 16:02 the week before at the state open on the same course.

9:49 as a jr.
the 16:02 at wickham is probably is more indicative of like 930-935 shape at least.

So 16:02 is worth waiting 7 minutes into a video for? No, I don't think so. That is like mediocre D2 material.
9:49 wouldn't have even gotten you a "starting" position in the 2 mile at my high school. Maybe a spot on the 2nd string 4x8.

Serously thats a bold statement to say some random kid who finishes 14th in the New England like a tool I might add is fater than the above poster. The kid isn't even that good and trust me elites frequent this message board most likely more than average runners. They don't work, what WTF do you think they do all day.
Thats was kinda funny...I envisioned a guy screaming like a girl as he passed a runner...sux they finished uphill.

I think you meant to respond to 'word son,' but I agree with you.
I am not an elite, but I certainly ran faster than 16:02 in high school.
I actually hope this kid in the video gets a lot faster and ends up beating all of my PRs. I think that would be great.
I do think it is quite strange for 'word son' to write something like that though; maybe 'word son' is the guy in the video. I still haven't watched the video though.
Out of curiosity, is this a big race that I have never heard about prior to today? I ran with some pretty good guys from that area, and they never mentioned this race, at least to my knowledge.
Anyone screaming while finishing at place #14 is doing something wrong. If you have all of that energy, you aren't running hard enough during the race.

To be fair, we're talking about 16:02 on a tough XC course. For comparison, the CT state champion ran 15:40 on it (on the same day Zach ran 16:02) and he has run 15:08 on the track.
Donn Cabral, now at Princeton, ran 15:32 on this XC course in 2007, then went on to run 14:44 during indoor track. So Zach is safely a sub-16 guy on the track.
Yes, the New England Championships is a pretty big high school race. The top runners from the CT, NH, VT, and RI state meets all attend.
it wasn't that bold a statement since most elites are secure enough to not anonymously rip a HS kid who is not awful. some guys who have run "only" 16flat at wickham have had some respectable d1 careers. dan wilson is the first that comes to mind.
trust you? why would i trust you that elites come shit on this message board all day? I know there's some on here, but the couple i do know generally don't waste their time on here ALL day, like every schmuck in an office building (including yours truly).
"dont suck" may not suck as runner (at least according to his vague allusions to talent) but clearly sucks as a person. "what are the new england chamionships?" is that a rhetorical question? could it be anymore self explanatory?
First of all Wilson ran sub 16 and was runner up at this meet his junior year. He did not compete his senior year due to injury bet see as he ran 9:05 that year he surely would have been the new course record holder at that time.
A "tough course"? What are you talking about? Wickham turned out to be the fastest course of the season for a lot of NESCAC women, including myself. Many of us set new PRs, even though the course was wheeled out to actually be a bit longer than 6K.
I was thinking the number 2 guy was gonna make up alot of ground and sprint past the leader. BIG LET DOWN. I'm in high school and I could beat that guy. I bet it was 3 miles, not 5k.
no that course definitely is 5k. Its a little different than it was 5 years ago. But I remember Coombs and Haji went 15:20 and it was unheard of. Haji ended up running 1435 on the track and Coombs a ridiculous 3:46 hs 1500 so its a pretty legit 5k course.
