I gotta go with Oregon on this. I don't think either team will win an actual championship, but both will be top 5 I think. I don't see another team doing that, and I don't see Stanford's women or Washington's men finishing high enough to give a "total" below 8 or 9 (team places added up) like Oregon will probably have. It's probably between them and Colorado for 2nd.

If we're adding team place up, I'll say top 5 in order are

Oregon

Stanford

Colorado

Washington

Syracuse

then probably Gerogetown, Villanova, Florida State, New Mexico, and BYU in no particular order are the rest of the top 10.

2) Team scores added up

3) Team places added up, after removing teams from each gender which have only one gender represented at the meet

4) Team scores added up, after removing teams from each gender which have only one gender represented at the meet and after removing individuals not running for a team.

The latter two, while a pain in the ass to do, will tell us which school really has the best overall program for both genders, as the interloper teams with only one gender could skew the results in favor of some teams. Furthermore, removing the individuals from #4 and rescoring will allow skew to be removed from the equation also.

I disagree with you, I think the first two scoring methods are a better representation of a combined program and the later two methods will only squeeze the results together. If you want to see if your team beat your friend's team at NCAA's you look at the combined results of all teams running in the meet, you don't take all of the runners out of the results other than the two teams you care about and score it like a dual meet. If you score this competition either of the later two way I think you are only wasting your time.

Providence is pretty good.

Last year, the top combined teams were Oregon, Stanford, Washington, and Providence.

I say if you combine team scores Washington has a very good shot but if you combine team placing it should be between Oregon and Colorado. With the way Colorado comes out of nowhere I'll go with them.

If you score the rankings that came out today Stanford is on top with 11 points (1 point for the men and 10 for the women), Oregon and Colorado both have 12 points, then Washington with 16 points. This is really close if you score it by team placing I'm surprised more people haven't commented on this thread.
