You really won’t find a lot of 10 000m in France. It’s not popular and athletes and coaches are much more interested in 1500/3000/3000 steeple.

Anyway, here, you have a link for the current calendar. I am pretty sure that there will be more competitions added at the beginning of next year.

I think that you just have to email people and ask them. If you run 1410 or 29XX you will be welcome! And I hope you speak French ;)

Where do you want to go in France? It could also be interesting for you to find people to run with?

cool, thanks a lot for the info! im not confined at all to france, though i will be spending the most time there. i also would assume that it would be easiest to run a race in france or some english speaking country because i speak french (and english obviously). and yes badabeau...it would be really cool to have people to run with. do you have any suggestions??

There are quite a few decent meetings in Belgium that do 5k/10k. Not quite sure of the details but have a search.

Ok I'll check that out too. The problem I'm having is that I don't really know how to go about searching for these meets in Europe. I don't know anything about the running system in these countries, so it's really hard for me to find meets at all, let alone figure out which meets are good and which aren't. Does anyone know of any meets in particular that might be good?

If you're in England, the BMC races will be fine for you.

Yeah, just go over to flotrack and look at all those races that so many americans run in Belgium. Many of them make Leuven their home for the summer, living in college dorms and such. Then they travel all over estern europe to race. But it seems there's a meet or two every weekend in Belgium.

yea those races in belgium that are covered by flotrack seem pretty good. cant seem to filter through all the meets on these european meet schedule websites to find anything else tho. i would like to travel a bit if possible, but im definitely going to pick out at least one of these races in belgium. any other ideas would be really helpful. thanks.
