She's a transfer to UC Santa Clara from UC Davis. Last year her best 5000 was 17:42. Nicole Blood, with whom Wilson finished with the same time today, ran TWO MINUTES faster last year! Incredible.
WOW. 20 min 3 miles on which course though? Some courses are faster than others.
Sounds like a Hansons-Brooks runner.
This is truly amazing... her 1600 HS PR seems to be around 5:30-5:40.
That means as a senior in high school, Nicole Blood could have run almost 3 miles at the pace of Stephanie Wilson's 1600 PR.
And now they are dead even...
Santa Clara isn't a UC.
And I do not think she was fast enough to run at UC Davis... she has a year of eligibility left because she did not run there and now runs at Santa Clara (which she plans to attend for grad school).
What were her tracK PRs? Someone already stated 5:30-5:40 in the 1600, anything else?
Also keep in mind those are all XC courses which can be tough based on difficulty.
Someone already said she ran 17:42 last season. She also ran a best of 4:47 for 1500.

I mean HS track PRs. Obviously her college track PRs are vastly improved.
17:02 5K PR
Stephanie did not make the soccer team at UC Davis, then transferred to Santa Clara (which is not a UC). Her success is the result of nothing but hard, hard work and always believing in herself. She is truly an inspiration and a role model. congrats!!!!
