I was very disappointed with this. Not a PR, and it wasn't good enough for the win. Damn all those 70 mile weeks and slew of track workouts. Is it worth it?

beats my 44
Why are you asking us what your opinion should be?
Be glad that you can run that well. At 28 I ran 38:24, and now, 25 years later, it's more like 49:30. The intensity feels the same, the speed is not.
Wow, so this is probably the wrong time to tell you the course was short.
So you guys came to letsrun, where no one's 10k PR is slower than 30:30? Welcome aboard!
Running fast isn't everything. Just thought you should know.
Mid-Atlantic Region? If so, I feel you.
sorry but you just need to grow some balls and run faster
you really need to consider giving up on life because thats just a terrible time
Add in 30 more miles per week, a few two-a-days, another speed workout, and lots of easy miles on concrete and you will be fine.

decent enough, plenty of people out there doing 120 a week and struggling to do a 33 minute 10k.
Buck up
thats what a slow person would say
