Help..... I am a cross country and outdoor track assistant coach in the northeast. I am starting a low key indoor track team. We are one of only 2 or 3 schools without one in our conference. We have had decent success without indoor, and a few kids have run unattached with other schools the last couple of winters but I kind of want to give this a go I will be practicing 3 times a week with 5 Saturday races in January. Distance wise, I have a decent feel for what I want to do.. just keep the kids running all winter, get some mileage in with some low key workouts.
I have a few sprinters who want to join us. I am looking for ideas on how to train them. We will be working outside as much as possible, but with some sprint stuff in the hallways of our school. So how do I structure their workout, sprint work, plyo training, sterngth work??? Also can anyone suggest a good book/web site/video series for a begging coach??
Any help will be appreciated
