This is a very fast course, however it was windy yesterday and times were not fast overall.
I think Megan will do pretty well at Footlocker.

BTW, Megan is a senior, which makers her a late bloomer. Good sign for continued success at the collegiate level. Of course, with the women, you just never know what will happen in college.
"states" meet.

Well, since it's only one state, we say STATE meet up here. We can count, bro.
"states" meet? how many states did she run in? i believe she only ran in the michigan state meet. so it would be called "state" meet, not the current ebonics "states" of the kids who have their moms and pops and peeps.
Nice 5 1/2 minute spread 1-5 for her team!

Megan is not a lame bloomer she got 3rd last year at nationals, only losing to two former footlocker champs.
you want a perfect example of a late bloomer, then look at
michael fout.
and it does not matter is your late brommer every body runner adapts different and the training collegeand college life and some get better and others stay behind.
look at 01-03-04-05-06-07 footlocker champs. they had a horrible or average.
the girls is worse 01-02-03-04, 02 at least had a more healthy running college career the rest have had many injuries in college..dont even think 01 champ ran.

A lot of people say "nationals" for one national championship, so how is "states" wrong? I mean, it doesn't make sense grammatically, but the concept fits with "nationals" and "regionals". Maybe you don't use those terms, but I know people who do and still get their panties in a bunch when they hear "states"

It was a joke by that guy, referencing the threads that went on yesterday.
Everyone knows it's either "State Meet" or "States."

That is amusing. That means that Megan beat the #5 runner by 1 mile!
Not quite a mile, probably more like 3/4 of a mile. When the #1 girl finished, the #5 would have about 5.5 minutes left of running. This would already be well into her final mile since her overall pace would be in the 7:15 range.
i've never heard of "states".
in my area we say "districts" (plural) but then just "state" (singular).
States sounds weird.
state meet = 1 state
states = meet with several states
district = 1 district meet
districts = the group of district meets
regional = 1 regional meet
regionals = the group of regional meets
national = the national meets
nationals = of or pertaining to the group of national meets, for example the national meets of all countries who partipate with national meets
People seem to forget she ran a very smart race last year to get third behind Hasay and Brasovan.
What the heck are you talking about?
The 2005 Footlocker champ is doing amazingly in college... The 2007 one it is too early to tell as she is redshirting, and the 2006 one has been doing pretty well (though did not run in the last 1-2 races... but that's still too early to tell).
No to mention how well the '08 winner is doing currently.....

Yeah, you're right Blargh. If you assume even pacing, it's pretty easy to calculate:
(Megan's time in sec/Nivi's time in sec) * 3.1 = .764 miles
So your 3/4 mile estimate was very close. Still pretty far behind considering that 22:30 is an OK time for a girl.
Watch out for Brighton next year!
Any idea on where she is going to college next year?

Not unless Meehan retires. It is tough to have 70 girls on a team and score over 500 points. That should be accomplished with the 15th-20th girls on a team that large.
