I am expecting to run in the Lincoln 1/2 marathon next May. I have run two 1/2 marathons previously, with a best time of 1:16:18 run mostly alone. Both of my 1/2 marathons came very shortely (1 month or less) after xc season (collegiate) was over, so I was never able to concentrate more than four weeks towards 1/2 marathon training since I was obligated to focus on xc during the season. Can you give any training advice and/or some examples of plans for a mediocre 1/2 marathoner looking to make a significant improvement? By the way, I am willing and able to handle high mileage training.
