Not to mention the hot chicks that run there. Has anybody ever been there, any advice? |

I train there when I'm not with my D1 teams. Very friendly people (even including the guard station). Can't speak for the academics, but a terrific place to train. The writeup about facilities in the soka.edu track and field page is worth a read. At least a dozen Olympic swimmers have trained there. Ditto, a bunch of NFL guys. Magic Johnson made a video there. The track surface is the equivalent of many D1 schools. There is grass to train on in the track infield and the adjoining soccer field that is the equivalent of what Asafa Powell has available in Jamaica. Trails to run on in the area. In the summer, this is one of the hottest places in Orange County. This is a Japanese University in America and there are certain rather unsual cultural combinations, such as watching "8 man" girls football, with Japanese ceremonial drums playing in the background. Hot girls? Really haven't seen any around there. |
