I have never been to a cross-country national meet. I am planning on taking my 11 year old daughter. Who are the individuals to look for on both the mens and womens side? It is easy enough to look at rankings to follow teams, but not individuals. |

I think more important than who to watch (the faster guys are at the front...I know you know that but I couldn't resist) is where to watch from.I don't know the USI course but print the map out ahead of time and take it with you so you have a strategy of where to watch from so you see the most. Get there early and check out the best vantage points and ask peole for advice on where to go. Also, besides individuals, watch for how teams seem to be doing and see if you can predict the team winner by observing where runners finish. Personally, I'd be watching Grand Valley to see how their pack does. Also, if you are really into it check out th eresults form the regionals to see who to watch. Wish I was going, have fun and I hope conditions are good. |
