interesting 6 of the 10 did not improve after their debut, though at least chapa only ran one and at least browne and cabada are still competing. |

Awesome run for Torres. It looks like he is going to have a bright marathoning future ahead, Thanks for the list Malmo. It's sad when reading it and seeing Ryan Shay in there. Such a huge loss of a talented runner so soon in life, would've loved to have seen how he would ran with the rest of the American guys today. |

anyone know what Nick Arciniaga's debut marathon was? I want to say it was 2:16 and change at St. George, but i may be mistaken. |

2:16:58 in 2006 at LaSalle Bank Chicago. I think that was his first one. Great race today for Nick. |

Great run for Jorge. Weird that he's the third oldest debut on that list. |

I've never seen Jorge run before, but I was really impressed with his style from the little of him I was able to see on the NBC broadcast; smooth and relaxed. When running with the lead pack, he just looked comfortable. |

I was updating his PR from this: 2:15:50 2:15:27 Jason Hartmann (25) Chicago 2006
That wasn't Hartmann's debut.[/quote] |

Ryan ran his debut in 2002. He died 5 years later. I think we know exactly how much he would develop. This guy has become a much better runner in peoples mind than in reality. |

Probably found here. I don't think he ran faster than his AR. http://www.arrs.net/RecProg/RP_USAR.htm |

After graduating in 1985 with a degree in business administration, Spence decided to try his luck as a road racer. Asked about his marathon debut at Baltimore that December, he is unable to dredge up a single fond memory. "That was just kind of to say I could run the distance," he explains. "I was on 2:13 pace for 20 miles, then blew up." Spence finished in a painful 2:26 and put marathoning out of his mind, though not for long. |
