CU's 7 in front of OSU's sixth, with Tebo running out of the picture...wonder if he is still sick? I thought CU would be a few points closer to OSU than OU! |

A few somewhat random comments: Fernandez has improved a great deal since the Chili Pepper. Clearly, he was injured, and it's hard to see how could get fit enough to win Nationals, but I can see a top five finish. Second, Lowe has improved an enormous amount this year. Aric VanHalen is rocking in 21st (I couldn't resist)--but more seriously, he's also improved an enormous amount since high school. OSU v. Stanford could be fantastic at Nationals. |

Thanks for the results. I thought the women's race was an hour earlier. German still only 4th. Looks like he'll be running for the team in 3 1/2 weeks. Colorado is looking good in prep for big race. Getting to the nitty gritty stuff now. |

Not a good sign for either OSU or CU. For CU, not being able to break up OSU's top 4 can't bode well for a podium finish. For OSU, Macheso needs to get in shape fast. If they're gonna win, they need him top-50, at worst. He appears to be a long way from that. Also, German? He beats the whole Big-12, but not his teammates. This seems like progress compared to Chili Pepper, but it doesn't seem likely that he'll be anywhere near Derrick or Chelanga come NCAAs. Not that OSU necessarily needs him contending for the win, but having him in the mix would certainly add some intrigue. |

Hey, they should have four in the top 20 at NCAA's...What happened to Chirchir? He was way back in the 50's. NCAA's is going to be interesting. I wouldn't be surprised to see someone else sneak past both Stanford and OSU (not Oregon). |

Its conference, not nationals just yet. I just don't think that OSU ran all out the last part of the race. German had a 7 second gap on the 5th place finisher. I doubt the top 4 (Vail and Co.) raced each other the last mile. Vail is a senior and I bet they deferred the win to him since they were already clear of the field. Lets see how regionals go. I think that will be a stronger indication of what is going on. I think OSU should be more concerned with how Chirchir and Girma ran. |

Not sure how to interpret this "not Oregon". Do you mean that you are not counting Oregon among those who may sneak past Stanford and OSU or do you mean you do not imagine anyone else sneaking past Oregon? Or something else? Just curious. |
| not chirchir |
| ||
Hey, i don't wish bad luck on anyone but Chirchir is simply not a factor, has not been a factor for nearly two years now in either xc or on the track, and obviously won't be a factor this year either. So let's please stop bringing up his name as if it has anything to do with OSU's chances. Girma is a different story. He has everything to do with their chances. If he closes that gap and can get within say 20 seconds of their top 4 then OSU has a good shot at nationals. If not they are hosed. Like last year, they have no real depth - no room for error in their top five. |
