Find yourself a sports bar with a nice big screen and get drinking.
Home.
on the west side of first ave...that way after the leaders go by you can swing back to central park and catch them at the finish
either that or wander around, find a bar, and join the party
Yup. First Avenue, anywhere around the low 60s maybe to see them come off the bridge, then you have tons of time to head to the Park and find a prime spot.
Subway to Atlantic Avenue, and see them from the steps of the Brooklyn Academy of Music at Mile 8. Then 4 or 5 train to 86th Street, walk over to 1st Avenue and see them again at ~Mile 17. Then back over to 5th Avenue and see them right after they enter the park at Mile 24.
Around mile 20 in the Bronx. It's free of the spectator zoo that is First Avenue and the other popular spots. The leaders will pass you mere feet from where you stand. And for the average schmoes, this is the point in the race where they need the most encouragement.
