4:17. Bah. At least we know she ain't god.
And beat her twin brother by over an hour.
Guess she got sick of waiting for that
taxi cab.

Running a 4:17 marathon is not running, is that what you are saying?
Plus it was a trail marathon, which would likely make it a bit slower. A solid performance.
Seems like some of you aren't giving her enough credit. Reading this example of her training you'll she's in pretty good shape:
Doing 1/4-mile repeats: I run at anywhere between 8 and 9.5 mph on the treadmill for 2 minutes straight, then walk for 2 minutes. I repeat that anywhere from 7 to 14 times.

I'm sure 4:17 was hardly an effort for her.

Bizz Johnson is a steady downhill marathon. Although it's on dirt roads, it's considered to be fast by even road standards.
Steady downhill on dirt sounds awesome. Let it roll and more cushion so it doesn't pound too much on your quads.
Isn't that ironic. She needs a dictionary by the way.
"faster than Opra"
That was going to be my question when I read the subject.
Starts out at 5300' and rises to 5550' at mile 6, and never gets below 5000' until mile 16. Not exactly a breeze.

You people are ridiculous. If this had been any normal person running 4:17 you would be tearing them apart because it is about running it fast, not just finishing. If she has a 26.2 sticker on her car you would be calling her an idiot who thinks running a marathon at all is some sort of accomplishment.
But NO, since its Alanis Morrisette(?) you think its some kind of great thing that she ran slowly.
ALANIS MORRISETTE!!! What is wrong with you people?
that was my first marathon time!
since then I am way faster of course, but 4.17 for a first one-I dont remember that as being 'easy'
plus I am canadian and eye candy
It is very cool. Sounds like a solid effort for her first one out and seems like she trained well for it. Good for her!
I don't understand the need for snarky comments here other than some occasional puns or references to her lyrics.
Good for her. That's a decent time for an artist/entertainer. I saw her open up for another band once and she was great. Very attractive in person.
I never want to run a marathon. Good for her.
