Ricky Flynn wins Paul Short Brown race, Lynchburg moves from 8th to 2nd in regional rankings (8th?!). Mary Wash wins Paul Short White race. Emory is a lock. Let's get it started.

maybe, just maybe, this is the year the VA schools actually show up on race day for regionals...
Who are the top runners?
1. Ricky Flynn
who else?
andrew vos has to be the favorite, hands down
Lol at Ricky Flynn. I think we raced each other when we were freshmen, only I graduated two years ago and he is still competing?
Jordan White of Bridgewater should be mentioned as an individual national qualifier. I know everyone knows Flynn is in a league of his own, but Jordan could be a top 5 guy. He has yet to be beaten this season, winning the Marlin Inv., Guilford Inv. and Roanoke Inv. Plus Bridgewater's team is highly under-rated. They were ranked 9th in the Region last week and I'm not sure why they dropped out just because they didn't race last weekend. Obviously they are not going to win the Regional team title or anything, just saying they will finish higher than people think. Schrock is one of the best coaches in the region and never gets enough credit for getting the most out of her teams.
those three invitationals that jordan white won are probably 3 of the worst xc races in the region. Look at his competition at each of them. He will not finish anywhere near top 5 in the region.
Exactly. So he hasn't even been pushed nearly to his potential yet.
Why is there always an Eagle fan with unrealistic expectations? Look what happened last year after all the BC hype.
...and the year before that and the year before that.
Also congratulations to the season Ricky Flynn, this decade's Wilson Perez, is having.
Jordan White's 27:11 at Hagan Stone is not top 5 in the region stuff.
It wasn't at Hagan Stone. It was on the Regional course at Guilford (on their campus) and it was very muddy.
jordan white sux and so does bridgewater...
emory looks real nice... props to a great run at Griak...
I think they can def make some noise at Nats
i see flynn winning regionals but meade and fyffe or however you spell his name going 2-3
here is my top 10 indivudials...
1. Flynn - Lynchburg
2. Meade - Emory
3. Fyffe - Emory
4. Devar - Mary Wash
5. Winterhalter - Emory
6. Bryant Wright - Trinity
7. Ryan Val Alstine - Lynchburg
8. Sean Whitson - Virginia Wesleyan
9. Jason Driscoll - Mary Wash
10. Willie Polio - Centre College
by the way... how the hell can you say white can run with that top 5? are you a complete idiot?
haha...Wilson Perez was in competing for like fourteen years in DIII. Good one.

Something tells me he whupped the crap out of you when you "raced" as freshmen. And as sophomores, juniors, etc.
Here is top 5.
These are hands down the best all around runners in the region. If they stay healthy there is no way these 5 won't kick huge ass all November.
1) Flynn 14:27 5000 30:09 10,000 14th at cross nats, 2nd in 10k and 5th in 5k
2) Meade 18th at cross nats.
3) Fyffe 14:40 5000 and 47th at cross nats.
4) Bryant Wright 6th at regionals and 71st at cross nats.
5) Chass Armstrong 3:52 1500
However. Being a SCAC guy I know that Bryant Wright has injury troubles. (he didn't compete at SCAC track last year I assume it was an injury). I also know that Chass Armstrong has struggle with Anemia last fall.
That being said, Ricky Flynn also seems to be injury prone ( I remember him running with a sling on at regionals in 07) and also hearing that he has had other injuries as well in other years.
Well, you have Van Alstine and Whitson at 7th and 8th in your prediction, yet White rocked them both at the Marlin Inv. Not just beat them, but ROCKED them. Yet you say he's not a top-10 guy? How can you pick Whitson over him when Whitson was only 4th man for his team against White? I guess predictions are more accurate than real performances. Too many of you under-estimate Schrock's coaching ability. Just look at the improvement for White this year and Griffin is running well too. She was Men's Coach of the Year in the ODAC because of the great job she did with the team in 2006 (also the year she got Spalding to nationals) and she got robbed in 2007 when they just missed winning the ODAC against W&L on W&L's home course.
i can guarantee that jordan white, a 1630 5k runner, did not ROCK van alstine, a 14:58 5k runner, at Marlin Invite. From what I could see from results Lynchburg ran as a pack and took it easy.
Have you actually looked at Van A's times? Marlin Invite, first meet of the season, and a very early meet at that, was a tempo run for Ryan. The problem with Bridgewater over the years, in addition to a lack of depth, is that they peak too early. Brandon's regional race in 2006 is about the only exception I can think of off-hand.
Shall we pull up eagles fan's posts from last year?
