Not all private coaches are bad news. Like the other guy said, some HS coaches who really do think they are great coaches aren't that great. A private coach might see somebody with talent who has a crappy coach and decide to help him out, AT NO CHARGE.
It sounds like the guys your talking about are bad news, however my experience with private coaching says that there are good ones out there.
Ender, I'm sure there are some good private coaches out there. Just haven't seen any with integrity. The so called private coaches only want to help the good athletes, once they do their "helping", they are reluctant to let go, want all the credit and/or the cash.
The guys I spoke of are not good coaches, only good promoters, they do what is best for their coaching business. When their clients go bad they point fingers the HS coach or at the coach of the college program they run for. They interfere with the HS programs and undermine those programs. All in the name of money.
