I know he ran a few god halves last year and has a poor showing at Chicago. Just wondering if he is still competing he was great in college.

He was about 10th place at the Bix 7 in Iowa back in July, that's pretty darn solid.
Thats pretty solid hopefully he's taking another shot at the marathon, no reason he can't run 2:20
I just checked, it was 14th actually, with a 34:56.
2:17:28 for 9th at the Twin Cities Marathon today.
thats pretty incredible especially considering its only his 2nd marathon and he ran 2:55 or something ridiculous in the first one.
Sigl's time is pretty good. Does anybody have updates on any good Marathon or 1/2 Marathon times runs by recent d3 grads? I know guys like Leer and Symmonds have done well in the shorter distances, and Moen ran a great 10 miler the other day. But it'd be interesting to hear about other d3 times...
I know Seamus Nally (Cortland) ran a 1:10 or so half as a workout during the summer.
Nick Stenuf (Nazareth) is doing training at FSU after having run 1:48 late in the summer I believe.
I think C. Fred Joslyn is still with Hansons
Here are a few:
Pat Rizzo (North Central)-2:17:05 at Boston 09 (also running Chicago this weekend).
Matt Hooley (Carleton)-2:18:38 at Eugene 09
Malcolm Richards (St Olaf)-2:20:38 at Twin Cities last weekend.
Crosby Freeman (Pomona Pitzer)-2:20:43 at Chicago 08.
Nate Brigham (Tufts)-1:06:56 at Philly Distance Run 1/2 in 08.
Also, I just noticed that Greg Reindl (Wash U) ran 1:05:44 this weekend at San Jose 1/2 Marathon.
Mike Morgan (Nebraska Wesleyan) 2:15:11 Chicago 2006
Macharia Yuot (Widener) 2:18:56 Trials 2008
Dan Sutton (UW LaCrosse) 2:17:53 at Austin 2006
Ryan Meissen (UW Whitewater) 2:18:02 at Austin 2006
Jason Ryf (UW Stevens Point) 2:20:43 at Austin 2006

that might be the understatement of the year.
Some updates from Chicago:
Rizzo, 2:15:48
Brandon Mull (Wheaton)-2:20:03
Marc Jeuland (Swarthmore)-2:20:23
Jason Flogel (Loras)-2:22:29
Randy Bill (Augustana)-2:22:49
Teage O'Connor (U of Chicago)-2:23:26
And of course Melissa White (Geneseo) ran 2:32:55 to finish as 8th female.
What are Olympic Trials qualifying times? Is it 2:20 for men, 2:40 for women?
I think it's pretty obvious DIII athletes have the potential to have the most success in the marathon post-collegiately. Impressive runs by Sigl, Mull, Floegel, Bill, & Pentek from St. Norbert also ran a 2:30. Melissa White continues to impress as well! I hope to continue to see more and more DIII athletes have success - always like to see the underdogs pull through :)
Also from D3 at Chicago, Mary Palmer of UW-Eau Claire ran a 2:46 in her debut.
That means Palmer achieved the "B" standard since I just googled and found the standards are 2:19 for men, 2:39 "A" for women, 2:46 "B"... very cool!!!
holy shite. that's fantastic.
Tyler Sigl--
Get a hold of the Hansons Bros and get your rear end in a group with guys to help you get to the next level. If Rizzo can run 2:15, you can run 2:12.
Also throw in:
Brent Martin (Ohio Northern) - 2:23:17
Tyler Sigl ran 49:52 to win a 10-mile road race, winning by over 2 minutes in June of 2011.
