Manzano can run 3:30 next year...
Yay Leo!!!!!
You Rocked!!!!
Great patience and blazing finish. He keeps getting better, and he has the kind of kick that gives him a shot at an Olympic medal.
you think....
You are on crack!
Brilliant race and fine finish!
Beat World Leader and World Champion...Not to shabby I might say.

Goes to show on the right day with the right positioning, someoone like Manzano could go from DFL to a medal. That would be cool.

no, you just have not been paying attention.
great run!
Certainly one of the most talented but questioable timing of preparation by coach. Either that or a total psychological blunder at worlds and many other races over the last 2 years.
Monzano..... wow
He got second in his semi-final behind Kiprop at the WCs too, right? He may not have a blazing PR, but I really think this guy could medal in an ideal race. His performance in the WC final was his worst of the year save for that 3:52 or whatever back in June (May?).
It's a pretty good time for US distance running.

Don't think so. I think he just needs to work on his endurance because when he's fresh, he has a good chance as anybody else. It's just running in all those rounds that get to him and when the final comes up, he's all taxed out. I don't think it's a psychological thing at all.
Na, watch the WC final. He ran stupid. Here he ran relaxed, tucked in the middle, and when the field moved he surged consistently down the backstretch. No sudden moves or cuts, just a progressive acceleration as the others jostled. In contrast, he was all over the place in the WC final. He got nervous and made all his moves before the last 300m came.
He was ready in the WC final, maybe not a medal but definately better than last or whatever place he got.
Lagat and Manzano prove Americans can sprint with the Kenyans. Not like those glorified time trialists Ritz and Tegenkamp.
