I'm shopping for a BB now & at $50 after the rebate, my initial thought is GREAT!
But after asking around & doing some digging on the web, it seems everyone thinks it blows.
Should I get it or keep shopping?

The way it was explained to me by the guy at the store was, if you are using it for a toy, fine. If you are a heavy user with work related things, stick with a curve or the new tour.
I have the curve and wouldn't change for anything.
The new Storm will be better, but touchscreens aren't for me. I'd go with the Tour. It's a great phone.
I like the Tour as well, but I'm short on $$ now & don't want to blow an extra $100 if I don't have to.

I don't know why everyone hates it, it is perfectly fine for me. I use it half the time for work (docs, internet, email, GPS) and half for fun (music, internet, email, etc) and it is fine. I think most who are knocking it dont have one or have never tried it. With that said, Verizon has lowered the price and is offering buy one get one as they are trying to deplete stock for the new version which has no buttons on the front (all touch screen), has rubberized grips on the sides, and is thinner. If you can wait I would get the new one just because it is easier to hold and nicer looking. If you are looking for a deal get the 1st gen version.
Is it an iPhone? No, but nothing else is either.
keep shopping, the storn is AWFUL! My brother is actually on his 6th storm. They keep breaking, the Verizon store gives him new ones because the phones are defective but they wont give him a curve.
Mine doesn't break - we have three inthe household - LOVE it.
I'm in the same dilemma right now. Seems more positive feedback here than I've seen. For $50, I may pull the trigger myself.
I haven't had any tech problems with it and the media functions are great. The touchscreen did take awhile to get used to though and if I had to do it again, I'm not sure that I wouldn't just go w/ the curve.
i have had one for about 5 months. i actually hate this phone with a passion. for some reason is locks up frequently where i get a picture of clock spinning and nothing happens. restarting it doesn't help. Pulling the battery sometimes helps. the touch screen might be helpful if you fingers are really small but if you actually have regular size fingers it is easy to frequently miss keys. I'm just waiting for my contract to be up so I can get something else.
I call bullshit on this one. Gimme a break, your brother is on his 6th? After maybe #3 I would say scratch getting another one.

What is the appeal of the touch screen anyway? I use the Curve for work and it's great. I have an IPod touch, and I like it for music, etc, but typing on it is such a chore. The appeal of touch screens is lost on me.
Stop pretending like you are busy. BBs make you look like a douche
Do you know what the difference is between the Curve and the Tour?

When is the new storm coming out?
