Trying to figure this out, but currently I am the fastest guy on my college cross country team and find that I struggle much more with the easy runs than the rest of the team even though I am 2-3 mins faster than some of them in the 8k. Normally we workout on either t-th or m-weds depending on whether or not we have a meet. Our days in between workouts we run 70 min and our long run we normally run 90 min plus. Normally the pace is between 730-830 on trails. The strange thing is I feel more sore and tired after an easy run than I do after a workout. I notice typically towards the end of an easy run I began to feel extremely weak and tired. I don't think my easy runs are too fast...maybe Im wrong but I have run mid 25s for 8k and ran 9 mid for a 2 mile time trial this summer. Any suggestions?
