I'm a high school teacher that is looking for a place to go in December to run at altitude that has good weather. Any good ideas? Need's to be somewhat warm because the wife and kid is coming, it is vacation to them. Thanks

German silva hosts people at his training camp. You could check that out.
Anywhere in the states with good winter weather?
Colorado Springs: weather that time of year can be anything to be honest.
Unless you have 4 weeks, I would not bother going to altitude.
Albuquerque would beat the hell out of Colorado Springs in December.

This is asinine, even just 10-14 days would be of benefit with the right focus.
I think Flagstaff would be nice you could always go to sedona as well but not as high. Sedona is nice all year though
Depends what you mean by "altitude." If it's just 5000 feet or so, then you've got a lot of options. I probably would consider western Colorado/eastern Utah -- Moab, Grand Junction, Durango, etc. Lots of fun vacation stuff to do as well.
If you mean 7500 feet or so, your options are limited. Maybe Santa Fe, Mammoth or Grand Canyon area. The last obviously would have stuff to do.
Hi, Thinking about doing an Ironman in either Marble falls Tx or Grand Junction
I'm from Chicago, do you think altitude will have a big effect in Grand Junction?

No, you are wrong.
No matter of focus or anything of the sort will cause the body to adapt in quicker than it's capable of.
To reap the benefits of altitude, 10-14 days will not cut it.
I would say Flagstaff. The weather is unpredictable in December (this most recent was beautiful for the first half of the month) but even when it snows it isn't too bad.
