Yes, I know how to use the search, but i'm looking for specific advice for my sitiuation. I'm running a half on Sept 27 and begining this week my achillies tendon started bothering me. Mondays run was a little painful. It hurts when i run, but otherwise i'm okay. No pain or stiffness in the morning. No pain up and down stairs..maybe just a little but i've go to be thinking about it, with my attention on my ankle, to notice it. I've been icing, stretching and took yesterday off. I may or may not run this evening. Most things i read about a.t. suggest at least a few weeks of no running. I just don't want to quit so close to race day.
i'm considering 3 options:
1) suck it up, train and race through the pain and recover after the race.
2) continue the stretching and icing, lower my milage and race. i probably won't be pleased with my finish time, but i'll still get to race.
3)forget about the race and get better. then start training and pick another race.
OR
4) whatever my letsrun freinds reccomend.
