Okay, so i went in for my bi-annual cleaning and the dentist told me I needed to replace a filling in my very last, left, bottom tooth (I have had my wisdom teeth taken out).
He decided it was too risky to try to fill, so he wanted to do a crown.
I went in to have the crown done, and the whole time felt as though he was being very, very rough, starting with the shot of Novocaine. What normally feels like a pinch seemed to hurt really badly. Then I was numb and didn't really feel anything until the Novocaine started wearing off that night. OMG it was unbearable. My wife had some painkillers left over from shoulder surgery and that is basically how I made it through the night.
Of course this was right before the Labor Day weekend, so I lived on painkillers until i could go in Tuesday morning.
The dentist said it was likely due to him hitting a nerve or tearing a muscle with the needle while administering the Novocaine, and that it should be heal itself as long as I take advil, etc.
He looked at it, poked around, etc.
That was yesterday. Today I am still in pain, worse than any other cavity, crown, etc I have ever had. I called and he is still shrugging it off. I swear I am not being a wimp. I feel like something is wrong.
The pain is not a sensitive tooth, it is like a really deep ache throughout my jaw. Last night I had a bite of my daughters ice cream and a few minutes later my entire lower jaw felt like it was going to explode.
WTF? I feel like taking a fire bomb to this guys car. What did he do? What can i do to stop the pain?
