???????? A beast !!!
Eric Henry of the University of Arkansas was 6'4 & 180lbs when he ran 3:58 on a 160m board track. Just keep'in it real.
Not the biggest....but he had the biggest ego.
a GREAT runner don't you think? what's your beef?

He used to sell T-shirts at meets that said "I saw Paul break 4 minutes". No lie.
How about having the fewest toes of any sub four miler?

I am from Charlevoix, right up the road from Cadillac, I have seen said shirt... He ran the Venetian Festival after his Olympics and had them there.
I know Eric Henry was tall but, I don't remember him being 6'4", in fact I would be willing to bet that Doug Consiglio was taller than Eric Henry and he was the former Collegiate record holder indoors at 3:55 and Doug was probably 6'2"-6'3"....
Eric Henry is 6'4 and was around 185 when he ran the sub4 mile. Grew up with him in Texas he is a big guy!
Haha - you're right, I saw these too!
He spoke about himself at our CC camp in the summer.
6'4" 180lb is still pretty damn skinny.
I ran with Eric Henry at Arkansas. He was definitely 6'4" and 180 when he was running some fast mile times. At times he was 185. Consiglio was even taller the Eric.

I am 6'4" and 160. And I can bench my weight 10 times, so I am not as skinny as a person could be. 180 is pretty stout for a runner at 6'4"

While we are all very impressed with your bench press prowess; I am 6'4" 175 lbs and I am pretty damn skinny. Also I bench pressed your mom last night.

My point is that this is just average, not overly lean for that height, since the silliness of the assertion that 180 is skinny at 6'4" for a distance runner. Lean, maybe, but not skinny.
My point is that 180 is a stout frame for a 4 minute miler. If you are 175, you aren't that skinny for a runner and You haven't broken 4:00. Elly Rono was 6'4" and 148. I want to say Jack Batchelor was 6'6" and 160. So I would say for an elite 6'4" guy, 180 is quite large, not skinny. McMullen was 6'2" and 175 and I am pretty sure I read he ran a 4:10 once while weighing 200 pounds.
Henry Kichirchir is 6'5" and I'll promise he is under 160. This is skinny:

I heard Eric weighs something like 350lb now-true? He was 6'4" and I personally heard from John Mcdonnell that was the biggest(no pun intended) achievement he ever witnessed. No lie, in his office 1995.
When Eric Henry was running for McCullough High School (AKA- The Woodlands HS, TX) he was weighed every year beofre Christmas break and had to do something like 100 push-up and situps for every 1 pound over that weight that he came back from break with. Big guy. Saw him last summer....he's prob about 280 pounds now. Still a beast.

For the record, Consig was/is 6',5" and I don't believe he ever cracked 150lbs. If you tied a string to his singlet you could fly him like a kite. In a pinch, you could slide him under the door. In fact, today, many years post-retirement, he doesn't look much over 160lbs.
I remember watching 3 Arkansas runners pace for Mr. Henry in his 3:59 at Iowa State in February 1991. Very large dude, at least 180lbs.
