With the XC season just getting under way, I was wondering if someone or various someones knowledgeable could do a small preview of the season. Maybe some of th expected top teams and the guys we should expect to be in their top 7. Just to get a look at the relative strengths of the top squads going into the season.

NAU preview...
Strong squad with a good top 5. Lead by World Championship qualifier David McNeill this team should be good enough to place anywhere from 1-10 at NCAA's, but I predect them to finish around 5th. Diego Estrada is an up and comer runner with solid track times and should be NAU's second runner. Ben Ashkettle, and Ahmed Osman are also strong runners with times around 14:00 for 5,000 meters. Newcomer Jordan Chipangama a JUCO national champion should round out the Jacks' top 5.

* Tim Freriks - is a freshman standout who ran unatached at the first meet but finished ahead of Pederson and may be used by the Lumberjacks this season. Look for Freriks to improve as the season goes on and maybe move up the roster as far as #5 for the Lumberjacks.
