For XC Championships I'm picking:
1. Navy
2. American
3. Army
4. Bucknell
5. Holy Cross
6. Lehigh
7. Colgate
8. Lafayette
My picks:
1. Navy
2. American
3. Bucknell
4. Army
5. Lehigh
6. Holy Cross
7. Lafayette
8. Colgate
Hanko will win going away.
Boring picks unfortunately.
Colgate all the way!
I love that toothpaste!
The toothpaste clan looked pretty bad on their home course last week. I see them continuing the trend from outdoor and bringing up the rear. Lehigh looked pretty good but they ran on a super fast course. American looked pretty good, Army not so much. Its tough to call this early of course. Holy Cross should be good if you look back to outdoor. If the PL was this week it'd be a little something like this
1 Lehigh
2 American
3 Navy
4 Army
5 Bucknell
6 Holy Cross
7 Lafeyette
8 Colgate
PL's aren't this week though last time I checked so it'll be interesting to see how things change as people become more fit and peak.
Hmm i don't know enough about a few of the teams, so i'll rank the ones i know a bit about
Navy
Bucknell
Lehigh
Holy Cross
Colgate
Lafayette
(^notice the red caboose) I'm pretty def about Navy, and ill wager they win the next 3 years. Top 3 Bucknell runners returning, so i expect good things from them.
Also, Hanko ftw- kid's got wheels.
Is tully's career officially over? If it is that's too bad. Also, Hanko's legit, but i'd like to see him try to win races at conference on the 1st day instead of blasting a field of kids doubling back while he's fresh.
From what I hear, Tolli will be back at some point. Maybe not this xc season, but there is a possibility for track. He should also have another year of eligibility after this one.
watch out for bucknell. they return FOUR of their top runners from last year including their top guy who was 10th in the steeple chase at the ncaa regional meet. i wouldn't be all that surprised if they stole the show from navy this year.
navy is cursed when it comes to pat championships.
Look for the eagles to return to the top.
1) Navy
2)Bucknell
3)American
4)Army
5) Holy Cross
6)Lehigh
7) Colgate
8) Laffayette
Bucknell will never be able to recover from the loss of Joe Foley.
Lots of Bucknell love so far. Cant say I disagree. I think they'll be better than their 5th placed preseason ranking. Army looks weaker than I thought they would. Kind of silly to mention it after one weekend of racing I guess. Interested to see how Holy Cross does next weekend after their good outdoor season.
Here's last year sans seniors
NAVY 1,2,13,14,15= 45
ARMY 3,7,9,11,18= 48
AMERICAN 4,6,19,22,28 =79
BUCKNELL 8,10,17,26,27 = 88
LEHIGH 5,16,25,31,37= 114
COLGATE 12,21,38,45,52 =168
HOLY CROSS 20,24,41,42,43 = 170
LAFAYETTE36,44,46,48,49,50 = 223
I wouldn't be surprised if it does look lot like this indicates. Army and Navy are in a close race for first. Bucknell and American are racing for 3rd with the edge to American. Lehigh comfortably ahead of 6th and maybe just barely out of reach of 3rd/4th. Then Colgate and Holy Cross in the 6/7 spot. I'd give Holy Cross the edge after the way they performed in track. And finally Lafayette will be working on another solid 4 x 800 team for track. Enjoy trashing these predictions.
Saturday there are going to be a few interesting matchups despite much of the league taking the weekend off from competition. Holy Cross will open up at the CCSU meet. American goes to Navy, it'll be interesting to see how that goes. Army is heading up to Ithaca (I hear its gorges up there) to take on Cornell.
bump
Let's go, Bucknell!
Navy looked pretty good this weekend. 7 guys under 25:10 Hanko ran 24:37
The weekly leaderboard after last weeks results. Holy Cross probably didn't run all out but I still expected more from them after last track season. Tim Richards definitely ran all out as he lost the race by only a tenth of a second. Oh yeah and Navy is Nasty.
1. Navy
2. American
3. Lehigh
4. Army
5. Bucknell
6. Lafayette
7. Holy Cross
8. Colgate
After Hanko crushing that course at Colgate in 25:09, only seconds behind the top Syracuse guys, he has got to be the favorite.
