Hi there. I'm experiencing pain in my left heel whenever I run. Normally the pain lasts for the first five minutes of exercise and then disappears. However I did a 10-mile run today and it returned in the last ten minutes.
The pain is a sharp: like somebody pinching my achilles tendon really hard at the point where it meets my heelbone. The pain occurs as I'm lifting my foot off the ground immediately after striking the ground.
If I press the back of my heel with my thumb when my foot in flat on the floor there is no pain. But if I raise my heel (keeping my forefoot on the floor) and do the same there's a sharp pain. The pain is about an inch about the bottom of my foot.
I've had the pain for some time and have tried to run through it but it's not getting any better despite me running lower mileage. Any ideas?
