BOO turned down the job at Tulane. Didnt like what the AD wanted him to turn the program into.
Cincy is filled, former Stanford coach, look on the web page...
What do you mean what the AD wanted to turn it in to? It's a job, isn't it. Academic schools say academics first, athletics 2nd!
I heard Boo has been looking for a college job again, since his days at LSU, just what I heard from some athletes. Why wouldn't he take this if it was offered to him?
I saw the Cincy coach hired! Thanks
Anyword on New Mexico?
What about....
Boise State?
Western Michigan?
Central Michigan?
TCU?
Because Boo is in the enviable position to call his own shots. He doesn't need collegiate coaching and therefore can afford to wait for a position that suits his vision for what a program should be like.
That's a very good place to be in life and he has certainly earned that status.

Is TCU out a head track coach?
I know for fact that the distance coach is still around.
No, we all know what qualifications Boo has. Well deserved as well. You would think he would want to take over Tulane and start something there, since it is home for him.
Just wondering what the AD at Tulane would want. It is a small academic school that pays coaches very well. Just don't understand. I have heard they want a woman anyways, we'll see.
I have no clue about the other jobs! I just got back from Europe and heard a lot of these jobs are already filled, but we all know how it goes.
Still waiting to hear about what you know, that we don't?????
yeah curious about New Mexico, been open for a while
Cal Poly?

I'd say you have little to no konwledge about the Tulane job as well, based on your thoughts that they "pay coaches very well".
They may pay SOME coaches very well, but considering the turnover of coaches in the track/xc program, probably not THOSE coaches very well.
Boo is a soft-spoken, considerate guy. If I had to guess, he probably wasn't impressed with the amount of support he'd have behind him.
I thought Heather Van Norman was there for a while?????????????? Turnover??????????????
Oh well,
It will be nice to find out what schools and when they will announce their hires. I hope the kids have someone around doing their workouts and sorts. I feel sorry for the kids when a situation like this happens at all of these schools.
I would love to find out about NM Jumps and Cal Poly as well.
I think ... think NM has a coach, but nothing official or confirmed at all. A great hire though if it is true.
Well, who is the rumor? Come on let, us know!!!!
Zuyderwyk of Purdue to coach at UNM
What's with this guy; he told his athletes he was leaving 2 weeks ago for Miami University. Is this true?
a year or so ago when they interviewed for the distance position they said that they wanted to be competitive at the national level within the next 3 years. However they were not willing to put more money or resources into the program and were not going to pay very well.
The AD lives in a complete dream world, i can see why BOO would not be interested in working under that pressure, even though he could likely succeed in his event areas, and possibly outside of them as well.
Interestingly enough, I would think from my conversations with Boo that he would want an all around program. He knows that the bulk of the points in a track meet are in sprints/hurdles/jumps and he could certainly boost that in a hurry. Too bad AD's who don't know much don't listen to those who do about track & field.
Boo knows!
