What do you guys think? Adams looks totally dominant. Western and Abiline look very beatable. Alaska Anchorage has a new super Kenyan and again looks tough. What else happened this weekend?

Western always tends to start slow. They will be there when it counts.
mines, metro, and uccs all competed in colorado springs, haven't looked at the results yet but i hear mines is looking very solid.
considering that adams and western raced in alamosa elev. 7000+ ft, or maybe even just tempoed, i dont think that race means anything. adams is obviously strong. anyone racing really well right now wont do well at nationals. lets wait another month before we make any judgements.
So how many people are going to write Western off after one race this year? How far of a drop in the rankings? Are they going to be behind Mines, again?
Lock Haven beat Penn State in a dual meet this weekend.
Complete Rust Buster coverage, featuring CO School of Mines, Metro, UCCS and others.
ACU ran 2 of their top 7 in Alaska.
why would western drop in the rankings? they had like 3 guys in the top 20 last year and they at least return their top 5. mines beat metro, who they are ranked ahead of, not even close to sweeping them. why would they move up?
Crouch will win
UMASS LOWELL!!!!
I 2nd that notion, Crouch raped FL state men/ NC men/ everyone else that was at the App State 4 miler. 20+ sec win margin
The only way i see braun beating him is using the altitude strength to push the pace somewhat early at the championships because we all saw what happened last spring in the 1500.
braun will beat crouch. it was a 1500, braun had also run a 5k prelim, and was out of position when crouch made a move. tactics got crouch that win but wont get him a cross win this year. braun gapped the field in cross last year with the exception of bauhs

You forget that last year Crouch was closing down on Braun at xc nationals. If it had been 11k, he would have gotten him.
You are right though - cross will all be even and there won't be anymore excuses for Braun like you guys keep making up.
All I know is that you know damn well that Braun is afraid. He's very afraid. Crouch is ruining his senior year!
(and looks like he got his butt whipped at the Vigil invite too... maybe he has completely lost faith in himself)
Ruben Sanca of UMass Lowell will smoke everyone in D2.
1) Braun will win.
2) Vigil is an ASC tempo.
3) No excuses Crouch beat him, the fact that Braun did more races did play a factor there is no doubt there.
4) ASC for the Win at Nationals unless 3 of their top 4 break their legs. Western will be 2nd.

except that he doesn't have any eligibility left
I think that you don't really get how much of a tempo the Adams guys really do at Vigil. They are running hard, they don't want to loose their home meet, especially to Western, and if they can dominate like they did this year even better.
Anyways by the end of the year many of the guys, especially the young ones, that ran well at Adams are tired and burnt out, it seems to happen every year for them. Most of the guys on the team come in at a high level and try to maintain it for the whole season, which is a recipe for disaster.
I thought the recipe for disaster was
Take a DII national champion team (ACU)
mix in a few more Kenyans
bake with a egotistical former DI GA for three months and presto...
you've got a mess
A unique twist is to sprinkle your team with dollar bills at Christmas time and you end up with NCAA violations
