Socklinsky will get rid of socks and run 12:50
Only way to beat KB is if he is tired then the Kenyans need to make the pace strong like Zurich.
Not sure this will happen
There is no Kenyan at the moment who can take on KB. They are all scared and all they do is fight for position two even before the race starts! Kenyans have top talent but they lack mental resilience that the likes of Paul Tergat, Moses Kiptanui and Daniel Komen possed. Augustine Choge has the kind of mental strength to tacle KB if only he moves to 5k. Hopefully he will do so next year. KB knows the Kenyans' weakness very well and has capitalised on it to the full force. Tonight KB will win in something like 12:57. Teg will not be far with 13:03 around fifth and Solinsky 13:07 for eighth.
If you read the KB interview on the front page, he talks about how he feels good and wants to go faster today than he did in Zurich. I have a feeling that means they'll go out at 12:40-45 pace at the front as I think KB really wants to go under 12:50 again. Therefore, I'm gonna go with KB at 12:48. After that, there's going to be a whole crew of guys trying to hang/falling apart. I think Teg will be somewhere in there at 3rd-6th at 12:55-7. I think Abdosh will be in that region of 12:55 as well, with Solinsky back in 13:06-8.
Teg 12:58.3
Ski 13:00.7

I thought the Kenyans might push the pace at Zurich, but the pace at Zurich was set by Bekele and the pace setters (who went out a touch to fast and then slowed enough that Bekele gave one of them a push to get going). Once the rabbits stepped off, Bekele droped a fast lap to get separation. In other words, Bekele was in total control of the pace the whole race, I just think he's so much better than any of the competition that the other guys are running for second and won't worry about trying to beat Bekele.
TEGENKAMP WITH THE NEW AMERICAN RECORD TONIGHT!!!!
KB 12:50
Teg 13:03
Solinksy 13:13
And by the way, only ten men have run sub-12:50 (and two of them are confirmed drug cheats).
Currently 59F and light rain, definitely a lot cooler than a typical summer track meet but I don't think it's too cool to run fast in a 5000m. So I'll put Kenenisa at 12:49 for the comfortable win, Teg somewhere in the middle of the pack with a 13:06, and Solinsky towards the back with a 13:11.
one will run around 1310, the other will run 1320.
Teg 12:58.3
Ski 13:00.7

Looks like I nailed Teg's time (12:58.56 actual)
As for Solinsky, I was a bit off....

Congrats, good job.
But I think Solinsky kind of ruined your average ;-)
I was close with Teg and Abdosh and the pack at 12:55ish, but KB and Solinsky wrecked it.
50% of the time, you work every time.
I think would've ended up at 13:08 or so, 11th overall, at the back end of the lead pack. Hopefully he'll have a better race next time!
What did solinsky do to wreck something? Fill me in.
When I turned it on, I didn't see him in the race and assumed he DNSed. But I see he DNFed, and you mention he and KB wrecked something. What happened to Solinsky in the race?
My predictions are all they wrecked. I was pretty close for the race in general except that KB was a few seconds slower than my guess and Solinsky was DNF.
I am glad I was wrong about Teg! Awesome.
KB looked spent and his kick wasn't as impressive as usual.
Great that he won the Jackpot though.
