Can never seem to get mine dry, can not be good for it to always have water condensation in it. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get it dry?
Thanks

don't use it, be a man ...it's not like you are out there running for 3-5 hours in a desert lol i laugh everytime i see those damn things what the hell people
I'm with you. I always have a good laugh when I meet someone that needs a drink because they don't have any water with them and they have been out there for several hours but they know "real runners [men????]" don't need to hydrate. It is especially funny in the desert where you can go through a 20-ounce bottle every two miles...yuk yuk yuk.
If you are really worried about the bladder betting dry, use a hair dryer. Easiest thing to do (prevent fungi and so forth) is to leave it in the freezer or hang it up by the mouthpiece and the residual moisture will drain to the cap.
I missed the part where the OP told you what he was using his hydration pack for. For all you know he could have been running in the desert for an extended period of time, or maybe he uses it for hiking/backpacking trips.
On topic: you can use a paper towel or something similar to absorb all of the water, although you'll have to be creative with getting the tube dry. I picked up a cleaning kit for mine (made by Camelbak) and it has two plastic pieces that allow you to hang the reservoir and hold it open, but I still have to wipe out the little bit of water that gathers in the bottom. I use the tube brush from the kit to get the water out of the tube.
I've been running since 1969. I've run over 100,000 miles in my life. If some young kid who won't be running anymore 5 years from now wants to laugh at me, who cares.
I use a hydration pack when I run during the summer going over 8 miles or more. As I get older, I can't tolerate the heat like I used to, and I get dehydrated.
I only use my hydration pack during the summer, which is when I run a dehumidifier in my basement. I put my pack near my dehumidifier and it's dry in a few hours.
I don't like the pack, and I don't use it every day, but I use it when I run in the woods and can't lay water bottles out at regular intervals.
It stinks getting old.
The dehumidifier works for me.
Must be HILARIOUS to watch them passing you all fully hydrated and what not
1. Hang said bladder upside down from a hook or nail (I hang mine on a nail pounded into the studs along the ceiling in my basement).
2. Stick an empty cardboard paper towel tube inside the bladder (this helps to "prop" the bladder open), but leave a bit of it sticking out of the opening.
3. Let it hang for a day or two.

Nobody wearing an 8 pound backpack is gonna pass me.

Hmmm, okay...meet me at Leadville, Bandera, the McKenzie, Wasatch, ... we'll talk about it along about 80 miles in.
I got my camelbak years ago when I was racing mountain bikes.
At the time, someone gave me a special plastic drying hangar that I still use. I don't know if they're still available, but I found this, which looks like a cheaper homemade alternative:

I just turn the bladder inside-out, wash & towel dry, then leave it out overnight to finish drying.
Thanks for the tips. I do not live in a desert. I use the pack when I am running home from work and need something to carry my wallet, keys and glasses. It's real handy for run commuting.

My jock uncle told my great aunt to man up when she was fighting cancer... That's a real cool thing to tell people...
You sound like the kind of tool that sticks to paved paths. How long do you run for? I go out for over nighters in the woods. I wear Puma trail runners. Sleep in a hammock. Journey back to town. I won't try 33 miles out without water.
That's the first basic rule of survival: acquire water. You'd probably be the guy that spends a day making shelter when it's 80F outside. LOL
