The Navy wouldn't be too bad if you are 22. After that, if you can, go back to school and study something that will actually get you a decent job. Engineering, or geography with a GIS concentration, nursing, etc. Join the police become a firefighter/emt or something while you go to school. There are other things you could do like teach English abroad, Peace Corps, move to LA and try to become an actor. It's all up to you. Don't spend a year unemployed and finally getting a job that pays $15/hr.

Is your dad still alive ? Your brothers ? Male cousins ? If they are, then please don't join the Navy. I know all Navy guys aren't fags, but your dad, brothers, and cousins will be bombarded with never ending jokes about you being a quere. It'll just be too cruel for them. I suggest you join a non-combat military branch like the Air Force or Coast Guard. The Army is 16% combatants. You are too smart and too old for the Marines, plus the Marines are 88% combatants who have to shoot people with M16's and stab people in the face with bayonets and K-bars.
