Looks like yet anaother season for the CUBS failing to live up to all of the pre-season hype. They will likely sail off into the sunset quietly, struggling to stay above .500

Sun rises in the east this morning!
as fired Cubs GM Ed Lynch said, hope springs eternal.

It's a beautiful thing, isn't it? Few things give me more pleasure than knowing the Cubs bandwagon fans will have to wait another year.
Not that this hasn't been happening to the Cubs for a century or anything .... but I think that the main mistake was in signing Bradley. Without a doubt he is the biggest cancer in MLB, and I can't wait to see which moron GM is going to sign him next.
If he played in the NFL he'd be a WR ...........
You got to give it to piniella for not getting everyones hopes up this year.
after two years of crushing playoff defeats, it's gottta be nice to just sit back and relax this time of year rather than get all jacked up over the cubs going to the playoffs
Yet they will continue to pack in the frat boys, sorority girls, and people from Iowa. No need to win, just fill the seats and enjoy a pleasant day in the sun.
Being a lifelong baseball Cardinals fan I guess I'm supposed to hate the Cubs.... But I don't. They just don't deserve my time. Not a good team. Not a good franchise. The fans aren't fans of good baseball, they're fans of a good time. Now the reason for this is rather simple and is prudent for a running message board. SLEEP. Being at Wrigley, they play more day games than any other team in the majors yet when they go on the road they play night games. This constant change in schedule along with the travel must wreak havoc on ones sleep schedule. Am I surprised that the Cubs are Useless By September? Not so much.
Actually, that they had pre-season hype to begin with is a step forward.
I haven't followed them closely and don't know all the players they have. But they should unload Soriano even if they have to retain some of his contract. The guy simply isn't a winner. Then give Pineilla what he asks for and let him do his thing and the Cubs will be alright.

false, true. you don't know what it's like. i'm crushed every year, and really frustrated right now. but i would never once consider not being ready for an optimistic next year, as we say. there are literally very fews things in life i want more than to see the cubs win it all. there is no experience like the wrigley field bleachers rooting for the cubs. i'm sorry that you just can't understand it cause i don't think any other team in sports (exception of maybe the red sox and european soccer) really understands.
this song is surprisingly right on, exactly what it's all about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqHTScDBsDUand mark derosa was the heart and soul of the cubs last year and getting rid of him and picking up milton was a horrible decision.
