I was going pretty hard up a hill about two weeks ago, and suddenly the back of my left heel/ankle/calf really, really hurt. I couldn't run even easily afterward, and had to walk home, kind of limping. I didn't do anything for a week because it hurt A LOT, even walking around, so I iced it and tried to stretch it a bit. I've tried running twice now, and I can feel the pain there with every stride, right from the beginning of a run. My form seems to be thrown off a bit, and I wouldn't be comfortable trying to go fast at all or even up a steep hill. I've had trouble with sore/stiff Achilles before, but nothing like this.
Can I ease back into training, or do I need total rest for this if it's torn?
