Kid ran 49 and change on that course. Unreal.

Anyone know the record on this course
I think it is Terry Baker with 48:09 from 1980. This is one of the best races in Maryland always Hot and Humid. Every once and a while you can a cool August morning and the times drop considerably.
It was cool, maybe 75 max by the finish.
usually 55 wins this race so was just awesome to see such a fast time. Kid mad eit to NCAA XC last year. Will keep an eye on him. Again such a tough course; at least for flatlanders
I believe the winner was Matt Llano. He was a standout high schooler on Broadneck's team with centro jr that won multiple state championships. I think he is still running at the University of Richmond. That is a ridiculous time on that course and in that heat and humidity!
Yeah was shocking to hear when I finally crossed the line. Thought people were just full of bull. The local guys that are usually up there must have never saw that coming.
Anyone local who remembers Matt L. from HS probably wasn't surprised by his win but I imagine everyone was shocked at his dominant performance and amazing time. I think he won by around 6 minutes!
Course isn't all THAT tough. I set a PR there once up on a time, but did luck out with the weather.
I was at the finish and saw him come in. He looked great - I think it is a new course record (at least that's what the announcers said). There may have been a faster time in 1980, but there was a different course back then. It was a long wait for #2 to roll in.
It would be fun to see Matt Centro come run the A10 - Lauren won the women's race 2 years ago.
This course is not a PR course sorry
Centro has run it and won it and please quit acting like it is a tough course. Yes its humid and the air quality is very poor but its not that hilly. Hilly for Annapolis and Eastern Shore folks but not for Baltimore or Hagerstown runners.
Oops - you're right. Matt did win it at age 16 in 55 min.
Course profile:
Not knowing the area and coming from the flatlands you are most likely correct here. Tough for me and Ill say that.
I woudl think the Cherry Blossom woudl be quite a bit quicker though for teh average participant; whether they like hills or not.
Cherry Blossom is very flat, and is in early April. Yes, it is much, much faster.
The course was short.
Did you guys notice that?
I didn't run it, but my wife's Garmin registerd 9.98 miles. I guarantee you that she didn't run the tangents.
I know I had my Garmin too.

I ran it and thought it might be short also. Mile 2 was way short, and Mile 10 was long, but maybe not enough to make up the difference. If it was short, I think it was in the first two or three miles because the rest seemed was definitely the same old course. I registered 9.97 on the Garmin and a friend registered usually I'm about 1% long on certified course and longer with turn. I'd have expected about 10.1 miles.
By the way, the course isn't horrific, but it's not Cherry Blossom and the conditions weren't the worst, but the humidity was still quite bad. 74 and a dew point of 67 at 7:54am per wunderground.
It was overcast so maybe the GPS devices were off?
This was the exact same course as last year and this is certified.
