Hey all,
I was hoping some of you folks (Alan?) might take a gander at this and tell me why it does or does not make sense.
I feel like I eat a ton. I just sat down and wrote down what a typical day might look like for me, and here's what I came up with:
I'm a 5'10" 150 lb. 24 year old male.
Breakfast:
Small apple—40 cals
Plum—45 cals
Peach--80
2 apples--160
bowl of veggies--45
three egg whites--60
¾ scoop of whey--100
¼ cup of yogurt—35
Total: 565
Lunch:
1 small sweet potato: 100
½ spaghetti squash: 50
½ cup lentils: 170
½ scoop whey: 65
Total: 385
Dinner:
¼ eggplant: 40
¼ squash: 25
1 tilapia fillet: 100
Total: 165
Total for day: 1115
That said, I'm running 11 or so a day with lots of hills. But with the exception of the occasional snack (carrot, maybe a small pancake or something), I don't really eat much more than this on a daily basis. But the math doesn't add up--if I'm burning 100 calories a mile or so, then in theory this diet would only sustain the running and not even touch my BMR.
What gives? I'm planning on starting to eat some less healthy snacks (I'm looking at a healthy brownie recipe right now, ha), but how is it that I'm not a LOT hungrier than I am now?
