You know, it's not even about the multiple $100,000s these athletes will make every year during their professional careers through sponsorships, appearance fees, performance bonuses, etc. It's about the fact that they've locked up security for the rest of their lives via the Nike network, future book deals and press conferences, and generally hanging around the house that Pre built.
Whatever is in his contract.

Ask Bob Kennedy, Stacy Dragila and Allen Johnson about that.
Sorry Ritz; all the money goes to Football and basketball players that don't work 1/3 as hard as you do. Maybe you will get to kiss the ring of Sir Phil and get a job in 10 years sweeping the floors of the Michael Jordan Building.
I wonder. Do agents work record-breaking bonuses into contracts early on when it still seems unlikely? Or do they wait until it's a real possibility?
I wonder which would be more advantageous for the athlete.

No. More people buy running shoes than football cleats.
No doubt there is an ar bonus in his contract. Likely $50k

That's my guess, a 50K AR bonus in his contract.
It's common sense guys. How much money do the Mandarins in Beijing make from the NFL ? tons more in shoes, jerseys, bags, etc. Running accounts for a miniscule amount of yuan when compared to the big media sports. The Mandarins at Nike World HQ in Beijing aren't stupid.
a nike gift bag with shoes, socks and sweats.

Tell me why there wouldn't be a World/American record bonus in a contract.
