I see a lot of threads about Berlino and I could not help but wonder if Berlino was the first mascot at a major T&F meet such as the World Championship or Olympics. While I really like Berlino and would not object to him becoming the offical World's mascot what does it say about T&F that we are all getting excited about the novel concept of a mascot entertaining the crowds at a sporting event? Go to any NBA game and they have their own version(s) of Berlino and more going on during time outs and at half time. Most track meets are frankly boring save for a few thrilling moments and track frankly needs to do more to keep the audience entertained. Berlino is a good start but something like this should really have been done a long time ago.
