Is Ritzenhein doping? It seems that he might be. Salazar certainly seems to have an impact.

Definitely
Yes. He told my mamma last night.
Has letsrun been turned over to the pre-schoolers?
Yes.
If a russian or north african made an improvement like this, everyone on letsrun would think so.

Or Portugese or Spanish or Belgian or Dutch or French or German or Turkish or Irish or Chinese or Italian or Greek or Austrian or South American or dark skinned at all et cetera ad nauseam. He's an American white boy so despite even his direct association with the Trevor Graham of distance running he gets a pass with the fanboy nation.
There is no doubt that this is suspicious. Al Sal is willing to do anything to win. He's an effective coach, but for this kind of improvement...
Alberto Salazar has had no evidence of doping, either himself or his athletes. Letsrunners have made accusations, and there's nothing more to it. He is a great coach, and his athletes reflect that. If you really think that Salazar/Ritz/anyone coached by Salazar is a doper, please provide some read evidence (other than "runner X PR'd by too much!")

Yup.
People are routinely accused of doping on here on the basis of runner X PR'd by too much-type evidence. Why should Ritz be held to a different standard?
To keep things civil and just - no one is above suspicion - Ritz is no exception.
It is a badge of honor to a suspect.
If no one suspects yuo are a doper, then you aren't fast enough.
Well, nothing other than established links to BALCO/Conte and Jim Stray-Gunderson, plus being an integral member of AW back when it was a hotbed of doping and known for heavy DMSO use, being Slaney's coach when she got busted, his PDF on supplementation ethics, etc.http://www.law.duke.edu/sportscenter/salazar.pdf

Symmonds seems to be as well. Dope is everywhere especially in Eugene and Portland.
Is it necessary to point out that one of the reasons Ritz could set a 5000 PR by so much is because it's been YEARS since he was in a high quality 5000?
Ritz is on the Salazar sauce. It's even better than the stuff Salazar was taking 25 years ago.
It was years since Bolt had been in a high quality 100 and that did no stop people questioning his record.
To reiterate, Ritz ran 8:11 for two miles over three years ago. That loosely correlates with a sub-13:05 for 5k, which, frankly, was what I personally thought would be his peak. So, he's always had the capability. Now, he has had three years of consistent marathon training with some mind-boggling long runs like 24 miles closing the last several at like 4:50ish pace from what I've read. And he's had access to altitude tents, alter-G treadmills or whatever they're called, and fast teammates, etc. Throw in some sharpening workouts, and that's how you get there. Still a phenomenal run.
I never thought it remotely possible that this kid could crack 12:50, and I still don't, but it's scary listening to his video about how Salazar's going to work on his footspeed. Look what it did for Rupp.

It shouldn't be, but the real problem is that the concept still won't be grasped. These are the same people that will say Rupp has done nothing to indicate that he can run 13:00 or 27:00 because if they don't already have PR's that can be plugged into a calculator that spits out the mark it's simply impossible.
Forget that the calculators use marks set by people who race the golden league circuit year after year while Rupp and Ritz have not.

this is not even slightly true.
